Jeff Jones
Apple Corps Ltd
Chief Executive Officer
In his role as chief executive officer of the Beatles' Apple Corps Ltd. since 2007, Jeff Jones brings a lifetime of dedication and expertise to the art and commerce of one of the world's most important music companies. Admired and respected by a wide range of artists, managers and fellow executives, Jones is that rare music business professional whose depth of knowledge, history and popular culture is solidly grounded in the sights and sounds that have always been the driving forces of his life. In the three years since Jones arrived at Apple headquarters in London, he has been responsible for extending the scope of the Beatles' music into exciting new domains. Jones supervised the creation and marketing launch of the Beatles: Rock Band home video game, managed the launch of the new Beatles.com website, and looks after the Beatles/Cirque du Soleil collaboration, Love. Jones has brought fresh concepts to a hugely successful reissue campaign involving newly remastered configurations of the Beatles' album catalogue, including the release of the albums in separate Mono and Stereo CD box sets, and on a special USB stick. He is overseeing the eagerly anticipated vinyl release of the Beatles' album catalogue, as well as the reissue of Apple's remaining artist catalogue in the fall of 2010. Jones managed the critically acclaimed DVD release of the Beatles' film Help! and negotiated a deal with Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment for the new 3D version of the Beatles' animated feature film Yellow Submarine, scheduled for 2012 release. Jones came to Apple from Sony Music Entertainment in New York, where he served as Executive Vice President, Legacy Recordings, in charge of the industry's premiere wide-ranging initiative of historical catalog releases and 10-time Grammy Award-winning archival box set projects. At the same time, Jones served as head of Sony Direct, which exploited direct marketing opportunities via television and the Internet. |
