"At the end of the day it's the music that matters"
Jason Mraz at Music Matters 2010
Created in 2005 to encourage positivity,
innovation, collaboration and transparency within the music business,
Asia's only regional music business conference took place in Hong Kong
over two days and four nights . Over 800 people attended.
Before a packed, standing room only
audience which included major musical heavyweights from around the
globe, Mraz performed songs from his repertoire as he explained how his
Grammy award-winning career has progressed internationally over the
course of three studio albums.
Music Matters took place over a jam-packed two
day programme in Hong Kong and included including face2face sessions, high-powered discussions,
keynote presentations and in-depth analysis along with some fantastic
and, for some, late night networking events including Asian music
showcases, parties, lunches and sector-themed breakfasts.
The conference was certainly a productive one for the Mongolian band Altan Urag.
Invited to perform as the opening act of Music Matters, the six piece
band was so impressive that the band have signed to performing rights
association BMI for their worldwide performing rights representation.
If that wasn't enough, Music Matters 2010 culminated in the innaugural Music Matters Live with H&M festival featuring 37 bands from 12 countries in 5 venues in HK's Lan Kwai Fong district.
